If this were a single parent fraudulently using a credit card to buy a new piece of furniture the mainstream media would be all over it and calling for the public execution – or at least flogging – of all suspects. However, on this they are silent. Makes you wonder about how confused we have our cultural priorities.
On a related note – what moral ground does the met have when it comes to arresting people for fraud? Are these really the people we should trust with the security of our most sensitive and important assets?
