I am not altogether sure what you think is being dodged here. The evidence is very clear and no one is pretending the monument is in its old place. The issue is the furore that has developed and, more comically, the title WND chose to announce this (ahem) news item.
First off, who cares if the monument is repositioned? If it is an intentional act on behalf of the National Park Service – well done them!
Secondly, does anyone who really believes in the Christian deity feel that he can be “Banished” from an area by such an act? Is the debate over this icon not verging on sinful idolatry? They are words. If the Christians are correct and God is omniscient and omnipotent why in the name of Toutatis would he care if some one repositioned an inscription in a dead language?
As a last point, if you honestly think Pastor Todd’s work is “reasonable research” I very much doubt you like any of the posts I have made on this blog. The two come from very different ends of the thought spectrum and are rarely compatible.
I am not dodging anything with this post, and I am sorry if you have come to that conclusion. However I am accusing DuBord and others as being extreme – maybe not at the goggle eyed end of the spectrum (“knee-mail” springs to mind), but they are certainly not rational nor reasonable.
