As far as I can see, the only “diet” that has any evidence supporting its effectiveness is Atkins, or at least cutting carbs. I agree that noone wants to hear this for any number of reasons – from the fact that it contradicts all the diet advice that’s been given for the past 30 years to the fact that it’s not convenient for the food industry (it’s hard to add extra chemicals to protein foods without stripping their protein content.)
